Luciano Lauri Pires

São Paulo, Brazil

Luciano Lauri is an experienced UX designer with a BA in Social Communication from Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil) and an MBA in Digital Marketing from FECAP. He started his career as a Graphic Designer in São Paulo designing ads, books and packaging for agencies and design studios.

In 1996 he joined Hipermidia Digital, a pioneer digital agency in Brazil, where he got the chance to work for big clients (Natura, TetraPak, Unibanco, Sulamerica) as a webdesigner. His first experience working abroad happened through an exchange trainee program between Hipermidia and two digital agencies in New York: Razorfish and Attik Design.

The opportunity of creating an online music store for one of the most popular record labels in Brazil led Luciano to SomLivre.com, in 1999. He was the lead designer for the entire project, from the brand identity to the final interface design.

In 2003, Luciano was hired by Folha de São Paulo to work on the re-design of their news portal UOL. There he started focusing on information architecture and user centered design. He kept his own freelance studio for a while, designing experiences for a network of agencies and publishing companies.

Luciano is currently the lead UX Specialist in the electronic channels division at Banco Itaú, one of the largest banks in the world. He is responsible for planning and guiding the design of a multi-channel client experience, either with in-company teams or outsourced consulting firms.
